Sheepish Grin are a Nottinghamshire-based fiddle and melodeon duo who perform British traditional music - and just love good tunes - for ceilidhs and seasonally-themed evenings of words and music.
Bookings have included theatres, arts festivals, clubs, galleries, street theatre and numerous private and public events, including many ceilidhs.
Sheepish Grin unites the talents of a classically-trained fiddler and a traditional diatonic accordeonist. Our enthusiasm is for British traditional music and our repertoire is a fresh combination of old and new - jigs, reels, airs, polkas, hornpipes and waltzes are all given a new twist.
We also perform themed shows which can be tailored to your own requirements; a recent popular one is ‘In Comes I’ which combines elements of the Nottinghamshire Plough Play with music from the period of the Napoleonic wars. The more family-friendly version, 'Tommy the Piper's Son' was premiered at Nottingham Royal Centre and we were back there as musicians for the Theatre Royal's 150th anniversary exciting community promenade performance of Sheridan's classic The School for Scandal, directed by David Longford.
